Biography

Priscilla Lustig is an American artist based in Austin, Texas and Los Angeles, California. Her bold, color-filled abstract paintings and objects are playful in nature and serve as an outlet for psychological exploration and self expansion. Built by calculated measurements and sharp tape lines, the creative process behind her work is tedious and errs on perfectionism.

As a child of the 90’s, her formative years were spent absorbing the cultural vibrancy and impact of the postmodern era. During her bachelors degree studies at Louisiana State University,

Priscilla took a particular interest in how color theory and textural changes both have a unique sway on sensory experience. Creating synesthetic experiences as the mind tries to construct some idea of what the texture must feel like.

Her direct influences include postmodernism, the Memphis Design Movement, and the dawn of the digital age.

Artist’s Statement

If humans are the architects of this world, why would we build it so plainly and void of inspiration? As a creator, I believe the solution is to keep an altruistic ideal that the world can be filled with color, fantasy and all of the good bits that we typically only offer to children. My fascination with postmodernism aligns with this notion as it’s conception was a response to drab lifeless design that came before it.

My hope is that these objects which bring me joy — and many other emotions— will do the same for you.
